Hart voor Transport is a house clearance company based in Haarlem. We clear homes, rooms in care homes and business premises in Haarlem and the surrounding area, Amsterdam and the rest of the region. We do the work with our own team and transport everything ourselves. We agree a fixed price in advance. During the clearance we strictly separate what stays, what goes to a second-hand shop and what is waste, and on handover you receive a photo report.

Request a quoteHow a house clearance works
- Request with photos
You send photos or a video of every room via the request form, or we come and take a look.
- Fixed price and date
You receive a fixed price with a description of the work and we plan the day. You will usually hear from us within one working day.
- Keep list
You mark what stays or take it out of the home beforehand. We go through the list with you at the start.
- Clearing and removal
Our team sorts, protects floors and the stairwell, and takes everything away in our own vehicles.
- Handover
Broom-clean or to the landlord’s requirements, with a photo report per room. On request we hand in the key.
What happens to the belongings
- Keep: we set aside whatever the family wants to keep. On request we take it to another address or to temporary storage.
- Second-hand shop: usable furniture and household items get a second life through a second-hand shop.
- Disposal: we take the rest away via authorised processors, sorted into wood, metal, electrical appliances, mattresses and general waste.
- Finds: cash, jewellery, papers and photos are set aside, recorded with a list and photos, and handed back to you against a signed receipt.
- What we do not take: asbestos and chemical waste such as paint, oil and gas cylinders. We leave those where they are, and we tell you how to get rid of them.
What does a house clearance cost?
The price depends mainly on the amount of belongings, the floor and how accessible the property is. The price includes our team, transport, removal with disposal fees and the broom-clean handover. Read more about house clearance cost.

Frequently asked questions
How quickly can you clear a property?
Usually within a few days to a week after your approval, depending on our schedule. If you are in a hurry, for example because a care home wants the room emptied quickly, say so in your request. We will see what is possible.
How do you arrive at a fixed price?
Based on photos or a video of every room, or a viewing. The price depends on the amount of belongings, the floor and lift, accessibility and any extras. If the situation turns out to differ from what you told us, we discuss it with you before anything changes.
Do I need to be there?
No, that is not necessary. We agree how we get the key. At the start we are happy to go through the keep list with you, on site or by phone.
What happens to valuables and personal papers?
We set them aside. Cash, jewellery, documents, photos and data storage devices are recorded with a list and photos and handed back to you against a signed receipt.
Do you also take asbestos or chemical waste?
No. Only a certified company may remove asbestos; if we suspect it, we stop work on that part. We do not take paint, oil, gas cylinders or other chemical waste.
Can the invoice be in the name of the estate?
Yes. On request we issue the invoice in the name of the estate, for the attention of the executor.
