Not every shipment is standard
Some goods deserve more than a standard courier service. A prototype that must not be shaken, an artwork worth millions, laboratory equipment that has to stay at an exact temperature, or a server rack that cannot take any shocks. Hart voor Transport offers special transport for exactly these situations.
Our couriers are trained in handling fragile and high-value cargo. They know how to secure goods, protect them against vibration and temperature swings, and load and unload safely. We use professional lashing equipment, protective blankets, air-cushion packaging and anti-static material where needed.
Carriage under carrier liability
Every special transport is discussed and planned in advance. We assess the nature of the goods, the packaging requirements, the preferred route and the delivery instructions. Based on that we choose the right vehicle and suitable cover. By default every transport is covered under carrier liability, but for valuable goods we offer additional all-risk cover.

What is special transport?
Special transport is carriage that does not fit a standard van or box truck because of size, weight, fragility or value: artworks, antiques, large displays, exhibition material, musical instruments. It calls for extra care: custom packaging, low shock, temperature-stable handling, often with a higher liability limit. Hart voor Transport arranges special transport on the basis of a quote per job.
Prices and terms
All rates include 21% VAT and are calculated as a fixed price in advance. The price is shown up front, with no surprises afterwards. For B2B shipments to other EU countries, the VAT reverse-charge mechanism applies where relevant.

What is special transport?

Can you transport a painting?
Yes. We use anti-vibration blankets, cardboard packaging and stackable frames. Valuable art is covered under standard carrier liability; a higher liability limit is available on request.
Do you drive with two couriers?
On request, yes. For heavy or large objects (an antique cabinet, a large painting, a display stand) we work with two people to load and unload safely without needing help on site.
How do you cover high values?
Standard carrier liability applies; for valuable shipments we arrange a higher liability limit on request. You receive written confirmation of the chosen limit before departure.
Can you transport delicate equipment?
Yes. IT racks, lab equipment and camera packages are carried with extra packaging and a low-vibration driving style. For especially delicate equipment we often use a vehicle with air suspension.
Do I need to be present during transport?
No, usually not. For very high values or unique objects (for example a museum piece) being present at pickup or delivery is advisable; we are flexible about this.
How long does a tailored quote take?
Usually one business day. For urgent jobs we are reachable within around 2 hours via WhatsApp on +31 6 1508 1713 — you get a verbal indication, with a written quote to follow typically within the hour.
